6 Things You Need For The Beach

6 things you need for the beach

Now that the weather has decided to grace us with a heat wave, everyone’s flocking to the coolest local spot, the beach. Everyone’s got the swim suit down but there’s more to it. Just last week we gave you a break down of some of our top beach in the downtown core, now here’s 6 things you need to make it the BEST beach day.

Beach Bag

To those people who walk onto the beach, hands overflowing, things dropping, stumbling through the sand to grab a spot. Honestly, just get a beach bag. Throw in your towel, sunscreen, food, water, drinks. It will literally take things off your hands for you and makes for easy transportation if you’re looking to roam around or get a bite to eat.

Vince Camuto beach bags

Don’t have to worry about sand living in your bag for the rest of its life. Let’s be honest, once sand gets in, it never really gets out.

Hunter and Rebecca Minkoff nylon bags

Rebecca Minkoff - Julian Nylon Backpack                       Hunter - Original Nylon Backpack

These backpacks are made from nylon which means they’re water resistant and sands just slides right off!

Ucon Acronbatics and Kendall + Kylie waist bags

Ucon Acrobatics - Jacob Stealth Series                Kendall + Kylie - Olympia Waist Bag in White

Not looking to pack much? These smaller bags are great for protecting the basic like your phone, sunglasses and wallet.

Beach Towel

We’re looking at you grungy, old bath towel. There’s a reason we have bath towels and beach towels. Bath towels use much fluffier Terry Cloth to be soft and comfortable but it means sand gets caught and is very hard to get out. Beach towels use a short Terry Cloth so it traps less sand and is easy to shake off. Get yourself a proper beach towel. You’re not going to regret it.

 Tofino Beach Towels

Tofino Towel Co.Friends from the west coast make the coolest towels. Round, square and beach blankets to enjoy.

Cover Ups

I know this might not seem like a necessity but let's just talk about it for a sec. Cover-up are made to easy, breezy, and pair great with a swimsuit. Have a great cover-up also usually means you're covered if you're looking to venture away from the beach for some lunch, shopping, or other events and you wont have to worry about being kicked out. Remember, no shirt, no service.

Ellemairco kimonos

Ellemairco - makes some of the most gorgeous kimonos that not only work in your every day attire but also make great covers ups. The best part is they can be loosely wrapped like a dress or blouse so you don't have to worry about getting your actually shirt or shorts soaked from a wet bathing suit. For us ladies, we all know the top is the worst. This lets you continue to dry off with being limited on what you can do or location.

Shoes!

This wouldn’t be a heel boy blog if there wasn’t some shoes. We just want to make sure your feet are properly covered!

sun screen

Jacob and Sebastian - If you have sensitive skin or worried about the chemicals that go into sunscreen check out. While not completely all natural, it does feature 70% natural ingredients and is hypoallergenic to go easy on your skin while keeping it protected.

Water Bottle

Last but not least, pack yourself a water bottle... or a "water bottle" (if you catch my drift). Either way it always make the visit 10x better when you don't have to pay for an overpriced beverage and you can conveniently bring as much of whatever you feel like packing.

Not just any water bottle though, an insulated water bottle. Forget having to drink hot water from sitting out in the sun all day. Our brand of choice is S’well to keep your drinks cool for up to 24 hrs so you can still have refreshing cold water on the hottest summer days.
